First stop chosen was Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in a series of road shows organised by TCEB to build awareness of the campaign; as well as to engage with existing clients and, at the same time attract new MICE business. Malaysia ranks second in tourist arrivals to Thailand while fourth as MICE visitors.

The team from the bureau showcased to the invited guests with a presentation of Thailand’s MICE capabilities, products, services, support offered for organising events and introduced the country’s MICE cities of Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Hua Hin, Chiang Mai and Khon Kean.  Headed by TCEB’s director of meetings and incentives department, Nooch Homrossukhon stressed that Thailand’s MICE is customer centric.  She said already three years now, the bureau launched the Thailand MICE Venue Standard (TMVS), whereby meetings venues in the country, are audited to comply certain criteria set before being awarded by the Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand the standard.

A table talk session was also held with hospitality, destination managers, MICE venue owners and players from both countries.

Singapore is the next stop with cities in China such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Shanghai targeted for the road show and Bangalore and Mumbai as potential incentive markets.
